This device is designed to transmit very high quality PCM or DSD audio streams to an external DAC or DAC amplifier. For this purpose, the Cayin iDAP-6 has coaxial RCA and BNC S/PDIF, optical Toslink, XLR AES/EBU and HDMI I2S outputs. All these outputs ensure a very low jitter level and thus a high level of integrity of the audio message. Two high-precision, low-noise Cayin clocks are used, reducing phase noise to 0.1 ps.
The Cayin iDAP-6 network player is compatible with Apple's AirPlay, DLNA and Samba network protocols. This means it can receive music from a Mac or iPhone, and also browse shared network folders in search of CD- or HD-quality audio files.
For this purpose it is equipped with a 3.95-inch AMOLED display.
Several USB Type A ports allow USB flash drives or disks containing audio files to be connected, again for playback.
Cayin has integrated Bluetooth HiBy Link technology, which allows the player to be controlled with the HiBy Music app for iOS and Android. Bluetooth aptX playback of audio files to the player is also allowed.
