A desktop digital music streamer. iDAP-8 plays music via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, hard drives, USB and SD cards—and it’s more than a typical streamer: it’s a modern, computer-based solution for your music library that also sounds genuinely high-end.

Built on Android 9 with the Google Play Store onboard, iDAP-8 runs a powerful Snapdragon 660 CPU. Some apps come pre-installed, and you can easily add more. An onboard FPGA enables smart UX and generates a bit-perfect I²S signal, routed to the digital outputs via HDMI and AES/EBU.

iDAP-8 is the perfect match for the iDAC-8 D/A converter and the iHA-8 headphone amplifier. Its internal 128 GB music storage, native Android streaming apps (including Apple Music and TIDAL in Hi-Res Lossless), plus network-based NAS audio apps can be controlled via HiByCast and HiByLink (HiBy Music).

iDAP-8 is exceptionally easy to use—and rarely has music streaming sounded this good. Part of that performance comes from premium hardware, such as an oversized 45 W toroidal transformer, selected as the heart of a carefully curated component set.

Play your music via Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Bluetooth, USB, SD card, or through the 2.5" SATA drive bay, designed for optional drives up to 4 TB. All inputs and outputs are optimally shielded to keep the iDAP-8’s signal path undisturbed.

The player receives streams—including Apple Music and TIDAL feeds—protected by Direct Transport Audio, preventing Android resampling. With HiByCast screen mirroring, you can control iDAP-8 inputs and outputs comfortably from the couch via Android or iOS devices.

Cayin’s FPGA processes the data and outputs bit-perfect I²S using two Accusilicon oscillators providing bit, master, and word clock references. I²S is delivered over HDMI using a pinout compatible with Cayin CS-100DAC, iDAC-6, iDAC-8, as well as Matrix Audio, Denafrips, and Wyred 4 Sound. Alternatively, transmission can use AES/EBU (110 Ω), BNC (75 Ω), or RCA with typical S/PDIF reliability.
