High-end streamer & R2R DAC with discrete architecture, FPGA-based signal processing and refined signature output stage.
Reference-level streamer & DAC with enhanced analog stage
The Wavedream Reference Signature is based on the same digital platform as the Reference, but differs in one key area: the analog output stage.
In the Signature version, this stage has been further refined and carefully tuned. The goal is not a different sound character, but greater stability, improved resolution and a more coherent overall presentation.
At the core is an AMD Zynq SoC handling both system control and streaming. Unlike many designs, the streamer is not a separate module but fully integrated into the architecture.
All audio processing is handled in dedicated hardware: four FPGA units control every stage of the signal path up to the discrete R2R conversion.
The operating system is isolated from the audio path, avoiding software-related interference.
Rockna uses a proprietary Digital-PLL architecture and deliberately avoids ASRC.
The aim is not to correct timing afterwards, but to maintain it accurately from the start.
The result is not more “impressive”, but more stable and more natural.
Soundnews"It sounds incredibly clean, transparent and extended, but without sounding cold or sterile."
Headfonics"The Wavedream Reference delivers an outstanding level of transparency and precision."
The Signature version builds on these characteristics and focuses on improving the analog execution of them.
