Closer to the music

Whatever kind of music moves you, the IE 600 moves you more. Enjoy not only the notes, but the subtle scrape of the bow on the string, the quiet chirp of fingers sliding to the next chord on a guitar. The exceptionally neutral acoustic tuning brings your music closer, making it more vivid—yet still pure and natural.

Within this delicate balance, the IE 600 still delivers powerful, fast, and precise low-end performance. Sennheiser’s TrueResponse transducer—a single 7 mm driver—does the heavy lifting, enabling the extra-wide frequency range and extremely low distortion that define the IE 600.

Balanced, neutral tuning

To achieve a natural sound reminiscent of high-end studio monitors, Sennheiser’s engineers carefully tuned the rear acoustic volume inside the IE 600 nozzle. This voicing adds presence and intimacy—bringing the listener closer to the music and revealing new accents and details.

Getting this level of balance and naturalness wasn’t easy. When similar sounds occur at the same time, the human ear can struggle to separate every nuance. The IE 600 uses two dual-chamber absorbers (D2CA) that capture and attenuate masking frequencies—so even the finest textures can emerge.

Stronger than steel, built to last

Researchers spent many years perfecting amorphous metals for manufacturing—and the wait paid off. The zirconium alloy from Heraeus Amloy Technologies selected for the IE 600 offers triple the hardness and flexural strength of high-performance steel. Because amorphous metals are “shock-frozen” during production, they don’t form the crystalline structure typical of conventional metals.

The result is a glossy, silky-matte surface that is exceptionally resistant to corrosion and scratches. The IE 600 housing is produced via metal-powder 3D printing, enabling complex shapes within tight tolerances. Chambers and channels are created as part of the additive process—without milling. Due to cost, this material is rare outside of specialized, ultra-demanding applications.

Automated manufacturing, artisan finishing

Housing production takes place in Germany and includes both automated and manual steps. A computer-controlled laser sinters a thin layer of metal powder and fuses the melted alloy with the hardened material beneath. Layer by layer, the part is built into its final form. A technician then removes process residue by hand. After cleaning, steel shot blasting, polishing, and extensive surface treatment, the housing achieves its final, extremely durable look—showing virtually no signs of scratches or wear even with daily use.

A faithful companion on your sonic journey

Each TrueResponse transducer is assembled by Sennheiser and built for a long service life. The production facility is among the most advanced of its kind, with one goal: exceed audiophile expectations. This enables channel matching where left-right differences become barely perceptible, and overall harmonic distortion that can compete with the best on the market.

All of this quality is enclosed in extremely durable amorphous metal—ensuring your IE 600 earphones remain in near-new condition for countless years, delivering decades of acoustic (and visual) enjoyment.

The comfort of a tailored fit

The IE 600 delivers big sound in a small, ergonomic housing. The gold-plated MMCX connectors are recessed for improved stability and guidance, and support cable diameters of 4.8 mm and below—so you can connect to a wide range of sources as well as hi-fi components with balanced outputs.

Choose between para-aramid reinforced unbalanced and balanced cables: 3.5 mm and 4.4 mm are included, while 2.5 mm is available separately. Two types of ear tips—silicone and memory foam—are provided in three sizes to ensure a comfortable seal. Flexible, adjustable ear hooks further enhance long-term wearing comfort.
