The Cayin HA-3A is a feast for the eyes and ears: visually, the headphone amplifier scores points with its glowing tubes, shiny housing and attractive aluminum front, while the analog flair is underlined by the pointer-armored VU meters. Acoustically, excellent transformers and transformers as well as the puristic two-stage amplifier circuit in Class A operation and single-ended design ensure extremely clear, clean, dynamic and powerful amplification with ample reserves.
The Cayin HA-3A tube headphone amplifier impresses with its carefully selected components and extensive features.
The chassis and the three transformer housings undergo 14 elaborate work steps. The result is an extremely high-quality finish, which is reflected in the paintwork with a fine texture and a deep glossy surface.
Another processing highlight: all assemblies are elaborately wired point-to-point by hand.
Two 12AU7/ECC82 driver tubes, which amplify the voltage level of the incoming audio signal, enable the 6V6S output tubes to operate at a very linear level.
The 22DE4 rectifier tube minimizes interference when converting to DC and supplies the amplifier circuit with clean current.
Two 6V6S output tubes drive a pair of custom-designed output transformers that support unbalanced and balanced headphone outputs. The secondary winding of the output transformers provides an alternative phase, creating a true balanced output. Voltage is supplied by our proprietary Premium Mains toroidal transformer.
The headphone impedance can be adjusted in three stages and offers a suitable sensitivity for all headphones:
L: 8Ω~64Ω
M: 65Ω~250Ω
H: 251Ω~600Ω
We have provided the HA-3A with three headphone output sockets for easy connection of all standard headphone connections:

To ensure that the signal reaches the headphones at 100%, a high-quality ALPS potentiometer controls the volume.
