Atom Phono is a powerful RIAA phono preamplifier and a clean equalizer in one. Its flexible bypass switches allow it to be used as an equalizer or a phono preamp, both or neither. The selectable gain of 30/40 dB delivers far more volume than typical integrated phono preamps, while noise and distortion remain impressively low. The Atom Phono offers exactly what you expect from a phono preamplifier and more. It fits seamlessly into your vinyl setup, can be combined with other Atom devices or be a mix of both.

Features

• Tone Control
• Also known as a 2-band EQ, the tone control is a low-noise adaptation of a Baxandall circuit that has been customized for deeper bass and sparkling highs. You can bypass the EQ at will and there is no loss of performance when using the EQ with the phono stage.

• Dual Gain
• Atom Phono offers a selectable amplification of 30 dB or 40 dB. At 40 dB, an ordinary 15 mV cartridge with MM tonearm is amplified to over 1.5VRMS. That is about 4x stronger than an average phono preamplifier!

• Subsonic Filter
• A subsonic filter based on the NJM5532 prevents low-frequency noise from the turntable from being amplified and sent to your headphones or speakers, improving sound quality and preventing unwanted low-frequency speaker movement.

• Low noise
• As a phono preamplifier, the Atom Phono is remarkably low-noise, even at high amplification.
