The Final Audio D8000 DC Pro Edition marks the rebirth of a classic. “DC” stands for Da Capo — back to the beginning — representing a complete re-engineering of the original. With over 2,000 units sold worldwide, this new generation sets fresh benchmarks in precision, naturalness and comfort.
Optimized for human hearing
The Pro Edition inherits all innovations of the D8000 DC, but is finely tuned to human hearing perception. Since bass is perceived stronger at higher volumes, the Pro delivers a balanced and natural presentation at any listening level.
Driver & AFDS re-engineered
The planar magnetic driver has been completely redesigned together with the patented AFDS (Air Film Damping System). New hole diameter, revised punching pattern and removal of the front magnet increase diaphragm aperture by 70%. 1.5× thicker earpads enlarge internal volume for deeper bass and silky treble, while total weight is reduced by approx. 100 g.
AFDS in detail
AFDS controls diaphragm motion through air viscosity, preventing bottoming-out at high excursions for deep, clean low frequencies. Different punching patterns on front and rear optimize bass and openness. An ultra-light aluminium diaphragm reduces moving mass for speed, resolution and refined treble.
Materials & comfort
The driver chassis is crafted from aluminium-magnesium alloy with resonance-controlled coating. Washi earpads are 50% thicker, highly breathable and designed for long sessions. The headband uses matching premium materials for durability.
Crafted in Japan & accessories
Manufactured at Final’s headquarters in Kawasaki with in-house tooling and strict quality control — Made in Japan. Included: locking transport case and detachable OFC copper cables (1.5 m 4.4 mm Pentaconn and 3 m XLR).
