The Final Audio D8000 DC Pro Edition is a complete re-start of a modern classic. “DC” stands for Da Capo—back to the beginning—signalling a thorough redesign of the original. Seven years after the D8000 launch, with over 2,000 units sold worldwide, Final raises the bar for precision, natural tonality, and long-term comfort.

Tuned for Human Hearing

Building on the D8000 DC, the Pro Edition is voiced to align with human loudness perception: because low frequencies grow more prominent as volume increases, the Pro delivers a more balanced, natural presentation at any listening level—from late-night sessions to energetic playback.

Driver & AFDS, Reimagined

The planar driver has been redesigned end-to-end, including production methods and the patented AFDS (Air Film Damping System). A new hole diameter and pitch, plus the removal of the front magnet, increase the diaphragm aperture by 70% versus the previous model. 1.5× thicker earpads expand internal volume for a stage with deeper bass and delicately extended highs, while overall mass drops by about 100 g for noticeably better comfort.

AFDS, Explained

AFDS governs diaphragm motion via the viscosity of air, preventing bottoming at large excursions and enabling powerful, controlled low-frequency response. Differentiated punch patterns (front/back) optimise bass and openness, while an ultralight aluminium diaphragm cuts moving mass by roughly one-third compared with dynamic drivers—yielding speed, resolution, and treble finesse.

Build, Materials & Comfort

The driver basket uses a high-rigidity aluminium-magnesium alloy with a premium, resonance-suppressing finish inspired by professional camera bodies. Open-type washi earpads are 50% thicker, highly breathable, and designed for fatigue-free listening. The headband employs matching materials for durability and stability.

Made in Japan & Included

Manufactured in-house at Final’s Kawasaki HQ with custom tooling, dedicated diaphragm-punching equipment, and rigorous QC—Made in Japan. In the box: locking carry case, two detachable OFC cables (1.5 m 4.4 mm 5-pole and 3 m XLR), both with secure locking mechanisms.
