The compact entry point into the DMP streaming-hub family

The Eversolo DMP-A6 Gen 2 is the smallest and most affordable way into the DMP series – without feeling stripped-down: network streamer, hi-res DAC and preamp in one compact aluminium chassis with a large colour touchscreen.

At its heart sits a genuinely dual-mono pair of ES9038Q2M DACs, driven by a third-generation XMOS XU316 audio processor. That lets the A6 Gen 2 handle PCM up to 768 kHz/32-bit, DSD512 and MQA, with output via balanced XLR (5.2 V) or unbalanced RCA (2.6 V), both fed from a newly revised linear power supply with a noise floor below 40 µV.

The 6-inch touchscreen makes browsing libraries, picking sources and controlling playback pleasantly direct, backed up by the free Eversolo Control app. Also on board: HDMI ARC for direct TV audio pass-through, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Gigabit Ethernet, plus an M.2 NVMe slot for a local music library. Streaming integration runs deep – TIDAL (with MQA), Qobuz, HIGHRESAUDIO, Amazon Music, Deezer and more play natively, alongside Roon Ready.

Anyone after more headroom, a quieter power supply and finer clocking should look at the identically sized DMP-A6 Master Edition Gen 2. Anyone wanting more I/O, a bigger screen and the AKM conversion section of the larger range should look at the DMP-A8 Gen 2 – the A6 Gen 2 remains the ideal compact first step for streaming and conversion in one box.
