The Gold Note DS-5.2 is the newest and also the most compact member of the DS family: D/A converter, preamplifier, headphone amp and network streamer in a small, everyday-friendly chassis. Digitally, it handles PCM resolutions up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD512 – a level of resolution not automatically expected in this compact, more accessibly priced class.

As a network streamer, the DS-5.2 covers almost every popular service: Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz Connect, Roon Ready, AirPlay, TIDAL, Qobuz, Spotify, Deezer and vTuner. Dual-band Wi-Fi ensures a stable connection, firmware updates arrive over the air, and Bluetooth 5.3 aptX provides a particularly current, efficient codec for wireless pairing with a phone or tablet – all controlled through the GN Control app.

The digital input section is especially noteworthy: alongside RCA, TOSLINK, USB-A and USB-C, there's also an HDMI eARC input – letting the DS-5.2 connect directly to a TV and take over its sound in high quality, without a separate soundbar. An analogue RCA stereo input is available too, and outputs cover both RCA and XLR.

Within the DS family, the DS-5.2 is therefore the most compact and versatile entry point: smaller than the DS-10 EVO, fitted with the unique HDMI eARC connection and the latest Bluetooth 5.3 standard – ideal for anyone looking for a high-quality digital source for music streaming and TV sound alike, in one compact unit.
