Ferrum WANDLA

Endgame DAC with HQPlayer filters, extensive connectivity and flexible volume control

Ferrum has very distinctive ideas when it comes to tailoring sound to personal taste and needs. Their first product was a power supply designed to improve the performance of other gear in general — and then refine it further through fine tuning.

OOR, their amplifier, offers a bypass mode that sounds different compared to engaging the volume control — and WANDLA is the only DAC with enough processing power to run selected filters by Jussi Laako (the developer of HQPlayer) directly on board. That’s why Ferrum integrated HQPlayer right into the unit.

On top of that, you can choose how volume and voicing are handled: digital, analogue (still adjustable via remote control!), or bypass — which passes the signal at full level.

WANDLA is also loaded with connectivity, making it as flexible as few other DACs: HDMI ARC, I2S, AES, USB-C — to name just a few.

An absolute endgame DAC.

With WANDLA, Ferrum is making a statement to today’s — and the next — generation of music lovers: WANDLA represents tomorrow’s standard of high-end digital-to-analog conversion. Think of it like a Formula 1 car: just as an F1 constructor builds the best racing machine possible, Ferrum built the best “engine” for The Converter.

Tomorrow’s High End Audio Today

As The Converter, WANDLA leads the way for tomorrow’s high-end offering, delivering flagship-level audio quality at an unprecedented price.

Finely tuned DA conversion

WANDLA is the latest exemplar of Ferrum’s digital know-how and in-house developed analogue audio and electrical technology. The ESS Sabre ES9038PRO combined with Ferrum’s advanced new current-to-voltage (I/V) converter competes with units many times its price.

SERCE

Digital audio system module — An optimized ARM chip delivers the shortest signal path possible, making multiple chips redundant. Includes MQA decoder/renderer and digital filter selection.

Dynamic Digital Filtering

Alongside ESS filters, WANDLA includes — as a world first — four digital filters created for Ferrum by renowned filter maker Signalyst (known for HQPlayer). More filters are planned after interacting with WANDLA users.

Optimized Digital inputs

Specially programmed USB plus tuned coaxial and optical S/PDIF, AES, ARC (TV) and I2S ports — all optimized for audio.

Truly Balanced

The analogue signal path is truly balanced. RCA inputs are converted to balanced at the first stage.

Proprietary amplification

A fully balanced, modified IC pre-amplifier — fine tuned specifically for WANDLA.

Ease of use

A newly developed hi-res touch screen with an intuitive UX — a dream to operate, including remote control.

Enhanced transparency

The entire design focuses on a balanced and highly transparent sound signature, making listening fatigue a thing of the past.

Made for HYPSOS

WANDLA performs beautifully right out of the box — but you can take its performance above and beyond by pairing it with HYPSOS. Using the proprietary Ferrum Power Link (FPL) connection with 4TSD voltage sensing, both components can operate at their absolute maximum, unlocking an even more effortless sense of musicality.
