A compact, pure network transport built to pair with an external DAC

The Matrix Audio TT-1 brings the idea of a pure network transport into a more compact, lighter chassis. Like its bigger sibling the NT-1, it deliberately drops any analogue output stage and focuses entirely on passing music data on to an external D/A converter as cleanly as possible.

The feature set nonetheless stays remarkably complete: Ethernet and two USB 3.0 inputs on the network side, coaxial, optical and AES/EBU (PCM 192kHz, DSD 2.8MHz DoP) on the output side, plus I2S-LVDS for lossless transfer up to PCM 768kHz/DSD 24.58MHz and a USB DAC output. An internal NVMe SSD slot lets you store music collections directly inside the unit, no separate NAS required.

The TT-1 is conveniently controlled through the MA Remote app, is Roon Ready certified, and supports AirPlay 2, Audirvana, UPnP as well as Spotify Connect, TIDAL Connect, Qobuz and vTuner. Compared to the NT-1, the TT-1 goes without the 10MHz clock input and the SFP expansion slot – a deliberate simplification for anyone who prefers the more compact, more affordable format without giving up the core functionality.

As a pure transport, the TT-1 really comes into its own paired with a standalone DAC such as the Matrix Audio ND-1: a classic two-box solution where each component does exactly one job.
