Violectric HPA V101

Compact high-end headphone amplifier with discrete amplifier design

The Violectric HPA V101 is the compact entry point into the Violectric headphone amplifier world – sharing the same low-noise, discrete amplifier circuitry and high operating voltage found in the larger models of the series. It effortlessly and cleanly drives low-, medium- and high-impedance headphones (16–600 Ω).

Highlights

  • Discrete amplifier stage with 4 transistors per channel, extremely low output impedance and high operating voltage
  • ±18 dB PRE-GAIN for optimal matching with any headphone/source combination
  • ALPS RK27 volume control with 41 tactile detents for precise adjustment
  • 2050 mW output power @ 50 Ω and up to 18.9 V RMS for high-impedance headphones
  • Delayed headphone output activation on power-on, instant cut-off on power-off
  • Thermal overload protection circuit

Connections

  • Analogue inputs: 1× XLR (balanced), 1× RCA (unbalanced) (switchable)
  • Headphone outputs: 2× 6.3 mm (1/4") jack, unbalanced

Solid black anodized aluminum housing, toroidal transformer and discrete amplifier circuitry – the HPA V101 brings the audiophile Violectric signature into a compact, affordable format.

Not sure if the Violectric HPA V101 is the right model for you? In our The Great Violectric Model Comparison we put every model in the lineup head-to-head.

Who is the HPA V101 best suited for?

The HPA V101 is the right choice for anyone who wants an affordable, especially compact entry into high-quality headphone amplification without jumping straight into the balanced True-Balanced class. Ideal for the desktop or as a first upgrade from a built-in headphone jack – with enough headroom to confidently drive high-impedance headphones too.
