Magnetic ear pads for every Diana and the JOAL

ABYSS ear pads attach magnetically and can be swapped in seconds. They fit every version of the Diana and the JOAL. ABYSS hand-assembles them in its own New York facility from custom-moulded high-density foam made in the USA, a soft pillow-top layer and fine European lambskin or Japanese Ultrasuede. Eight N52 magnets per pad hold them securely on the headphone.

Three materials, three voicings

• Lambskin: the highest resolution in the treble and the deepest sub-bass below 20 Hz. In black, dark brown or cognac.
• Ultrasuede (vegan): pillow-soft and slightly softer in sound than lambskin, which can help if a system sounds harsh at times. It also adds a slight lift between 30 and 60 Hz. In black or tan.
• Hybrid: Ultrasuede against the face, lambskin inside and out. Resolution and treble stay high while comfort improves, especially for glasses wearers. The Diana DZ ships with these pads.

With or without bass port

The bass-ported version trades the deepest sub-bass below 20 Hz for a lift between 30 and 50 Hz and a little more depth and openness in the soundstage. The vegan bass-ported pads make the biggest contrast to the leather pads without port; ABYSS compares it to having two headphones in one.

Break-in

New pads gradually compress and conform to the shape of your head. If you bought a used headphone with older pads, ABYSS recommends new pads for a proper fit.
