Abyss Ear Pads for AB1266
The revised 2025 pads – two fits, vegan on request
In 2025 ABYSS revised the ear pads of the AB1266. The hybrid version has a lambskin interior, a perforated lambskin exterior and an Ultrasuede face, with soft foam and a pillow-top layer underneath. According to ABYSS they are the softest AB1266 pads to date. ABYSS hand-assembles them in New York; nine N52 magnets per pad hold them securely on the headphone.
Two fits
- New standard fit: ABYSS now ships every new AB1266 TC with it. It seals better to the head, so the headphone sounds consistent regardless of placement, and it is easier to use.
- Classic fit: a shallower depth, similar to the earlier pads. It barely seals and keeps the “floating” fit and the spaciousness of the original AB1266, also for large heads.
Vegan: Ultrasuede only
The vegan version is made entirely of Ultrasuede. It absorbs a little more treble and sounds more relaxed, suited to a warmer tonal balance.
Break-in
Like all leather and Ultrasuede pads, they gradually compress and conform to the shape of your head. Some adjustment may be needed at first.
