Lime Ears Terra

Lime Ears Terra

The entry point into the Power Trio series – six drivers, universal fit

With the Power Trio series, the Polish custom-IEM atelier Lime Ears of Warsaw has completely reorganised its universal line-up. The Terra is the entry point within it – and still packs six drivers into a shell that's still hand-built, including an optional opal faceplate normally reserved for custom models. The aerospace-aluminium shell also breaks new technical ground for Lime Ears: it's the brand's first universal metal shell, a company that has so far relied mainly on acrylic and resin housings – a material shift that gives the Terra a noticeably more premium, robust feel in the hand.

The driver configuration is built around a 7mm titanium dynamic driver for sub-bass and bass, joined by two Knowles BA drivers for the lower midrange, two vented Knowles BA drivers for midrange and upper midrange, and a specially modified Knowles RAU driver for the treble. The dynamic driver deliberately handles the bass, since it delivers a more natural sense of attack and air movement down low than a balanced-armature driver can, while the BA section takes care of control, resolution and a cleanly staged handover into the mids. A 4-way passive crossover keeps the transition between the five transducer elements clean.

The Terra ships with an Effect Audio EC-OCC copper cable (26AWG, two-core, 1.2m, 2-pin connector, 4.4mm balanced jack), plus a full set of Spinfit CP100 eartips, a leather case, cleaning tool and cotton pouch. The aerospace-aluminium shell is universal – so it's ready to wear straight away, with no impression or custom fitting required.

Within the Power Trio line-up, the Terra is the sonic entry point ahead of the Incognita and Maris: fewer drivers, a simpler build, but the same craftsmanship and the same modular cable concept. Anyone who wants to get to know Lime Ears' sound philosophy without going straight for the flagship starts here.
