Open-back over-ear planar magnetic studio headphone with professional tuning

For years, leading audio professionals around the world have relied on Audeze headphones such as the LCD-X and MM-500. The MM-100 turns any room into a studio in seconds – with the sound signature of proven reference monitors. Forget the room – trust the MM-100.
The newly developed planar magnetic drivers of the MM-100 deliver extreme precision with minimal distortion. Patented waveguides, magnet structures and diaphragms – inspired by the flagship LCD-5 – set a new benchmark in this class.
Gel-filled ear pads and a featherweight suspension headband allow fatigue-free work – even through long sessions.
The single-sided cable entry allows flexible use with an instrument, computer or mixing desk. For transport, the MM-100 folds flat and stows in its soft gig bag.
Hand-assembled in Southern California. Magnesium yokes, a spring-steel headband and high-grade workmanship guarantee reliability – in the studio and on the road.

Frequency response
The line marked as target is something you could call the “ideal” curve: a target response derived from research by the Harman group, exploring what kind of headphone tuning tends to be preferred by a broad range of listeners – regardless of age or demographics. This is often referred to as the Harman Target.
From left to right you see sub-bass, bass, mids, and then the curve tilts upward where treble begins. That part of the spectrum is naturally amplified by the shape of the human ear.
Sub-bass sits far below the target – common for open headphones, the Harman target includes a strong bass shelf, the bass is slightly reduced. The lower mids are neutral, the presence region around 3 kHz hits the target. The treble is strongly tuned more relaxed – never sharp, easy over long sessions, and the range above 10 kHz stays on the curve. Left and right channels track each other closely, a sign of careful driver matching.
