ZMF Ori 3.0
Closed-back planar with ZMF technology and tunable bass
The Ori is where ZMF began: in 2015 a Fostex T50RP Mk II became the “Omni”, which was soon renamed Ori. Ten years later ZMF has reworked the idea with everything that came out of the Caldera and the Atrium.
The Ori 3.0 is a closed-back planar headphone with an 80 mm driver, a 6 µm Kapton diaphragm and 60 Ω. The CAMS magnet structure comes from the Caldera, the ADS damping from the Atrium. Redesigned airflow slots in the cup are meant to lower distortion and clean up transients.
The supplied tuning pegs (two sets each, solid and ported) and different Caldera pads let you change the tuning without an equaliser, from warm to lively.
The cups are cherry with warm, honey-gold tones and a fine, even grain; the wood darkens with age. It comes with the black aluminium chassis as standard, the black Mg12 chassis for a surcharge. The Mg12 magnesium chassis is about 34 g lighter than aluminium, painted rather than anodised, and may show wear over time. ZMF includes one pair of pads (Caldera Thick lambskin or Caldera suede, top-perforated only); for a surcharge there is the pad bundle with all four pairs. You choose the plug of the supplied cable: 2.5 mm, 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm, 6.35 mm or 4-pin XLR.
