Silver-plated 5N OCC copper with 133 strands – ZMF’s first cable with silver content

The Michanikós is ZMF’s first cable with silver content. ZMF says they tried many different conductor arrays before settling on a dedicated pattern of 133 strands with an inner insulator strand.

The conductor is 5N OCC copper with silver plating. ZMF describes the sound as natural yet brighter than their own OCC copper cables without silver content. The many fine strands and the inner insulator strand are meant to smooth out the sharpness often associated with silver while retaining fine resolution.

The name – Greek for “mechanic” – says it all: ZMF sees the cable as the mechanic of your system, fixing the chain so that it plays without fatigue and with all the detail.

You configure the Michanikós yourself. On the headphone side there are plugs for ZMF and Audeze (2× mini-XLR), for Focal, Hifiman and the ZMF Bokeh (2× 3.5 mm), for Hifiman models with 2.5 mm sockets, for the Sennheiser HD 5XX, 6XX, 600 and 650 and for Dan Clark Audio and Mr Speakers. Towards the amplifier you choose 4-pin XLR, 2 × 3-pin XLR, 4.4 mm, 6.35 mm or 3.5 mm; lengths range from 1.2 to 3.7 m (4 to 12 feet).
