The entry into Gold Note’s analogue world

The Pianosa is Gold Note’s entry into its proper analogue class. The plinth is built in two parts: hand-crafted walnut or black lacquered MDF below (alternatively white or gold leaf), topped by a 20 mm black lacquered MDF board stiffened with a 3 mm stainless steel plate. Two materials with different resonance behaviour damping one another.

The platter is 23 mm of damped vinyl — the same material as the record itself. Instead of a felt mat, the record sits directly on a surface that resonates like it does. It is complemented by the patented Split-Spindle clamp at the platter spindle.

Drive comes from a high-torque 12 V synchronous motor with electronic speed change and fine pitch control. The standard tonearm is the B-5.2, successor to the B-5.1: a 9-inch arm with a straight 6000-series aluminium wand and four GRW micro ball bearings, 242 mm effective length and 10 g effective mass – the same key figures as its predecessor. The B-7 Ceramic is available as an upgrade. The arm comes factory-fitted and adjusted; Gold Note does not supply a cartridge.
