The first limited wood edition of the Tessidera
Limited edition, available while ZMF makes it. ZMF builds every pair to your configuration in Chicago; delivery takes about 6–10 weeks. The grain and colour of the wood vary from piece to piece and from the photos.
This is ZMF’s first LTD edition of the Tessidera, in English Brown Oak. English Brown Oak comes from old forests in Britain and continental Europe. The oak grew slowly and is correspondingly dense; its dark colour comes from a natural fungal process in the heartwood, and mineral deposits draw fine streaks and figure. Brown Oak is considerably rarer than ordinary oak.
The Coffee Gold grilles are backed with black cloth, and the ZMF Acoustic Matrix shows through the cup slots in Dusty Blue. As standard it comes with the black aluminium chassis and black rods; for a surcharge you can choose the black Mg12 chassis with a black BBB strap and Coffee Gold rods. The Mg12 magnesium chassis is about 34 g lighter than aluminium, painted rather than anodised, and may show wear over time.

Technology and tuning come from the Tessidera: a planar magnetic driver with a diaphragm just 1 µm thick and 35 Ω, plus ZMF’s five technologies CAMS (magnet structure), ADS (damping behind the driver), ZAM (diffuser against standing waves), SRS (wooden resonator) and the Caldera pad system.
You choose the installed Caldera pads in lambskin or suede and a second pair that ZMF includes at no extra cost, plus the plug of the supplied cable: 2.5 mm, 3.5 mm, 4.4 mm, 6.35 mm or 4-pin XLR.
Not sure if the ZMF Tessidera LTD English Brown Oak is the right model for you? In our ZMF Buying Guide we put every model in the lineup head-to-head.
For anyone who wants the technical ambition of a ZMF planar magnetic headphone but prefers a smoother, more accessible tuning than the Caldera – liquid, lush and musical rather than energetic and bombastic – and would like the first Tessidera in a rare wood. It pairs well with a wide range of amplifiers.
